ACADEMICS

Our school offers an environment of small classes, where each learner receives personal attention and focused support. With high-quality educators who are passionate about teaching and development, every child’s unique abilities are recognised and their academic potential is fully developed.

In addition to the core subjects, we also offer extra classes such as technology, art, and other skills-based programmes. These programmes promote creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-confidence. We focus on the holistic development of learners and equip them with the necessary skills to confidently embrace the future.

OUR CLASSES

At our school, we focus on quality education in small classes, ensuring that each learner receives personal attention and support. This approach promotes understanding, growth, and self-confidence. Our dedicated teachers help learners reach their full academic potential, with regular feedback and remedial support where needed, so that every child is successful and well prepared for the future.

TECHNOLOGY

Our computer lab provides every learner with access to programmes such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, while specialised reading programmes help improve their literacy skills.Technology here does not just make things better - it makes better things possible.

ACADEMICS Supporting Services

At Laerskool Trichardt, we offer various support programmes to strengthen each learner’s educational experience. These programmes include:

Remedial and additional support for learners who require extra assistance in core subjects.
Reading and language programmes to improve comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary.

spelling bees and academic competitions

Spelling Bees and language competitions make learning fun and challenging. Learners improve their spelling skills, concentration, and memory while proudly showcasing their knowledge. We celebrate learning through games, smiles, and healthy competition.

SPORT

Laerskool Trichardt has a warm and proud culture that prevails among our sports teams and their coaches. Although our world of competition and achievement is strong, the well-being and emotional interests of each child are always at heart. Sport at Laerskool Trichardt is practiced not only to keep our learners fit, to teach sportsmanship and techniques, but also to give our children life lessons, self-discipline, perseverance and self-confidence.

Trichardt is one of the smallest schools in our province, but we are more than competitive in all areas of sport. We pride ourselves on having high quality coaches who strive to develop each child to the highest possible level. Our coaches are motivated, attend courses regularly and serve on various Gert Sibande and Provincial committees (for coaching, referees and unions). Our coaches are always willing to go the extra mile and promote parent support through good communication.

SPORTS OFFERED AT LAERSKOOL TRICHARDT

Laerskool Trichardt boasts some of the best facilities, equipment and apparatus, which enables us to offer a wide variety of sports. We offer various opportunities for learners to participate in sports and boast a large athletics team, five rugby teams, eight netball teams, six cricket teams, four hockey teams and six chess teams. We also offer archery and cycling, where we participate independently and achieve great achievements.

Rugby

Rugby at Laerskool Trichardt is a proud tradition built on modern values, discipline, and respect. We aim to develop each player not only on the field but also as young leaders. By emphasizing teamwork, perseverance, and good sportsmanship, we teach boys to play with pride, take responsibility, and always give their best.

Netball

Netball at Laerskool Trichardt is exciting and dynamic. Although we are a smaller school, our teams hold their own against larger schools - thanks to passionate coaches and dedicated players. Every girl is given the opportunity to participate and be visible on the court.

Our coaches are highly trained, provincially involved, and skilled in modern techniques. We are also proud to have provincial and national referees. Players regularly attend clinics and compete against schools from other provinces.

Hockey

Hockey at Trichardt is about heart, determination, and pride. Our girls play with passion and perseverance, developing skills while building strong character.

Each year, some players are selected for the Mpumalanga provincial teams — a recognition of their talent and hard work. Success here is measured not only in scores, but in growth, teamwork, and pride.

Tennis

Tennis teaches learners determination, respect and sportsmanship, both on and off the court. It is an exciting sport where children can run, laugh, learn new skills and make friends. Whether you are new to the game or already love it, tennis offers something special for every learner.

Archery

Archery at Laerskool Trichardt is more than just a sport - it teaches learners discipline, perseverance, and valuable life skills. Every participant starts as a beginner and learns through practice and dedication to hit even the most challenging targets.

Our programme provides opportunities for learners to develop their skills, build self-confidence, and become part of a supportive team. Training sessions promote focus, patience, teamwork, and physical fitness.

Cycling

Cycling at Laerskool Trichardt is a sport that combines fun, fitness and skill development. Our learners learn balance, focus and perseverance while learning safety and respect for others. It is an activity that builds confidence, encourages healthy competition and gives children the chance to enjoy the outdoors. At Trichardt, every learner gets the opportunity to ride a bike, improve skills and grow with others in a supportive team.

Athletics

Athletics at Laerskool Trichardt is a highlight of our sports program. With a strong focus on technique, teamwork and perseverance, every learner is given the opportunity to reach his or her full potential. Our passionate coaches and dedicated learners ensure that we achieve outstanding achievements every year.

Culture

We take pride in offering a wide variety of cultural activities of the highest standard. Our dedicated staff create an environment where love, cooperation, perseverance, and self-confidence can flourish. Our learners’ achievements in the cultural field are impressive, but what truly stands out is their pride and attitude. Always neat, confident, and with sparkling personalities, they participate wholeheartedly in every opportunity.

Choir

Being part of Laerskool Trichardt’s choir requires hard work, focus, and passion. We develop beautiful children’s voices while giving learners a strong sense of belonging, where they represent the school with pride.

Every choir member sings wholeheartedly and participates in festivals and competitions, achieving outstanding results year after year.

Music connects us all - come listen and be amazed!

Revue

Drama gives learners the chance to express themselves creatively, build self-confidence and learn cooperation. Our annual revue and performances bring the stage to life with dance, singing and acting. Every child gets a chance to shine — whether it's behind the curtain or in the spotlight.

Art

Laerskool Trichardt is the only school in the town with a dedicated art studio. We offer unique opportunities for learners to develop their artistic talent. Learners have access to a wide range of materials, techniques, and professional guidance.

Each child receives personal attention and encouragement to experiment creatively, learn new skills, and build confidence in their art. The studio provides an inspiring space where their unique style can develop, and their work is regularly displayed and discussed.

Public Speaking

Public speaking and debate develop communication skills, logical thinking, and self-confidence. Learners participate in internal and inter-school competitions, and learn to express their opinions respectfully.

We believe that every voice matters — and that words can change the world.

Land service

Land service teaches learners to care for their community, appreciate nature, and make a difference. Grade 1–7 learners take part in projects, camps, and team activities that develop leadership, friendship, and responsibility.

It is not only about actions, but about caring hearts and helping hands - an opportunity to make the world a better place.

Guidance & Support

At Laerskool Trichardt we believe that every learner is unique and has the right to support that helps unlock their full potential. We offer an integrated support programme that promotes academic, emotional, and social development.

Nadine Dunn -Play Therapist

Our school collaborates with a qualified play therapist, Nadine Dunn, who supports learners through play-based and creative activities. Nadine helps children develop their emotional, social, cognitive, and physical skills in a safe and stimulating environment.

Through play and therapeutic interventions, children are encouraged to build self-confidence, improve communication skills, and enhance their ability to focus in the classroom.

Beyond

Beyond Multidisciplinary Practice offers comprehensive services designed to support children and families across a wide range of needs. The social skills programmes help children develop communication, emotional regulation, and socialisation skills in a supportive, structured environment. Individual therapy focuses on personal, emotional, and behavioural challenges. This practice also specialises in forensic services for court-related matters.

Igna Beukes (Educational Psychologist)

Igna Beukes is a registered Educational Psychologist with 26 years of experience in supporting children, adolescents, and families within educational and therapeutic contexts. This practice focuses on assessments, interventions, and guidance aimed at addressing learning, emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges.

With a client-centred and ethical approach, Igna collaborates with families, schools, and other professionals to promote resilience, academic success, and overall well-being. Her practice reflects a strong commitment to professionalism, compassion, and positive developmental outcomes.
